Plant Growth in the Canadian Arctic

Explore Research at the University of Florida: Anna-Lisa Paul, a research associate professor of horticultural sciences, explains an aspect of her research in the space biology program. Researchers spend a summer in the high Canadian arctic at the site of a large impact crater, similar to those found on the surface of the moon and Mars. Because of the similarity, NASA tests lunar rovers on its surface. Paul collects samples from remote areas of the crater to see if they could support plant growth.
